Inspiration | Smart Idea For Everyday Tea‑making

Traditional gaiwan brewing usually needs a separate tea strainer. Extra tools crowd your tea tray, and loose tea leaves often sneak into your cup when pouring.

Our local craftsmen drew inspiration right from real‑life tea moments. Why not build the filter straight into the gaiwan itself?

That’s how this design came to life. Built‑in hollow holes sit around the rim. No extra strainers required. Everything you need is inside one bowl‑and‑lid set, for clean, hassle‑free tea brewing.

Craftsmanship | Hand‑shaped Clay & Kiln Magic

This gaiwan uses genuine Qinzhou Nixing pottery clay. The raw clay gets thoroughly kneaded to remove impurities, giving it a dense, smooth feel.

The circular filter holes are all hand‑carved while the clay is still soft. Every opening must be uniform and neatly lined up. It is tricky work — even small mistakes can crack the clay piece, so many pieces fail at this step.

After careful trimming and polishing, it goes into the high‑heat kiln. Kiln heat creates that rich antique bronze finish. No two gaiwans look exactly alike.

The final shape fits comfortably in your hand. When you tilt to pour, tea flows freely through the holes while trapping all tea leaves inside.

Meaning | Find Calm In Your Tea Ritual

A classic gaiwan carries old‑world symbolism: the lid stands for heaven, the bowl for earth, and the user represents humanity. Together they stand for balance.

These hollow holes are more than just functional. They stand for clarity and an open mind. Just as the holes filter away tea bits, tea‑time helps filter out daily stress and restlessness.

Its muted earth‑toned finish reflects quiet composure. Each pour becomes a small ritual to slow down and reset your mind.

Collection Value | Functional Art To Use & Treasure

Every piece is hand‑fired, with one‑of‑a‑kind kiln‑shifted coloring you cannot replicate in mass production.

One wonderful trait of Nixing pottery: it ages beautifully. With regular use and contact with tea, it slowly develops a soft, glowing patina unique to your own tea‑drinking journey.

You can use it every day for solo tea sessions or gatherings with friends. You may also display or collect it. More than just tea gear, it is a piece of oriental handcraft you can enjoy for years.
