Inspired by the gourd, one of the most beloved auspicious symbols in Chinese culture. “Gourd” sounds like “fortune and prosperity” in Chinese, and its winding vines with abundant fruits symbolize endless descendants. The artisan carved gourds and leaves all over the round Xishi teapot — from body to lid — filling every inch with blessings of wealth and family prosperity.

工艺
Made of authentic Qinzhou Nixing clay. Hand-thrown into the classic Xishi teapot shape with fitted lid and round knob. The entire body and lid are fully hand-carved in deep relief with gourds, winding vines and layered leaves, with fine vein details. High-temperature firing creates a warm reddish-brown kiln-change finish, with the raised gourds and leaves in a lighter tone for strong three-dimensional contrast. Smooth pouring and develops a glossy patina with use.
