This gaiwan uses genuine Qinzhou Nixing pottery clay. The raw clay gets thoroughly kneaded to remove impurities, giving it a dense, smooth feel.

The circular filter holes are all hand‑carved while the clay is still soft. Every opening must be uniform and neatly lined up. It is tricky work — even small mistakes can crack the clay piece, so many pieces fail at this step.

After careful trimming and polishing, it goes into the high‑heat kiln. Kiln heat creates that rich antique bronze finish. No two gaiwans look exactly alike.
